As a crowd funding platform for social enterprises, SocialProjects.org.uk offers a quicker and easier way for raising funds for social projects.


How does SocialProjects.org.uk work?
Project owners simply submit details of their projects  to us. Once a project  is selected by our selection committee, it will immediately be included in the list of projects available for crowd funding.  Funders can search for and shortlist projects that they would like to support. Contributions of funds to projects are made by debit / credit card and Paypal.


Who can use SocialProjects.org.uk?

How do I know projects listed in SocialProjects.org.uk are genuine?
Not all projects submitted to
SocialProjects.org.uk are accepted. A project is approved for inclusion in our list of projects only after it has been reviewed by our selection team and found to meet our tough selection requirements.

How do I support a project?
You need to be a member of
SocialProjects.org.uk. Once you have registered, log into and add funds to your account. Once you have funds on your account, you can contribute to a project. Click on the above 'Fund A Project' link and a list of projects will be displayed. Click on the View project button to display full details of the project. To contribute to the project, enter the amount in the Amount field which is in the right hand side of project details page and click on the Contribute button. The amount you contribute will be deducted from your account.

How do I add funds to my account?
You can add funds using debit and credit cards like Mastercard, Visa etc and Paypal

What are the minimum amount and maximum amounts I can contribute to a project?
The minimum amount that can be contributed is £10.00. The maximum amount is the amount left to be raised i.e. The Target Amount minus the Total Amount raised today.


What kind of information will the project owner get about me?
The project owners only see the number and persons supporting their project and also the amount of money collected. If the project ends successfully all the emails from the supporters will be given to the project manager so that information regarding rewards can be shared.

Can I cancel a contribution made to a project?
Yes, the amount contributed will be 'returned' to you SocialProjects.org.uk account.

Can I deduct money from my SocialProjects.org.uk account?
No, any money in SocialProjects.org.uk accounts must be contributed to a project.

How do I collect my rewards when a project has been successfully funded?
The project owner will get your email so they can ask you for whatever information they need to give you the reward.

Who will make sure the project owners deliver what they promise as reward?
Project owners are responsible for their promises. SocialProjects.org.uk has no responsibility for delivering out the rewards. It`s all based on trust and believes


How can I register my project in SocialProjects.org.uk?
For your project to be listed in SocialProjects.org.uk, you need to become a member by registering your profile. Once you have registered, enter details ( Title, Category, Description, Amount Required, Fundraising Period, etc ) of your project. Make your project look as good as possible on the site by adding an image, giving rewards to funders, etc. If your project is approved by our selection committee, it will be included in the list of projects shown in the site.

If selected, how long will my project will listed for?
Your project will be listed for a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of 180 days, depending on the fund raising period you set.

Can I promote my SocialProjects.org.uk Page on other websites?
Of course! Use Facebook, Twitter, etc. You can also include the widget in other sites so that people are aware of your fund raising activity through SocialProjects.org.uk.

Can I change the deadline of my project?
No, when a deadline is set for a project there is no way back. You must stick to your plan

What are the minimum and maximum amounts I can raise for my project.
The minimum amount is £100. There is no maximum amount.

Can I change the funding goal of my project?
No, once your project has been listed, the target amount cannot be changed. Therefore, it is very important to think about how much you need before your project is listed.

Can I have more than one project going at the same time?
No. You can only have one project listed in the site.

Does SocialProjects.org.uk claim any ownership in the projects launched on the site?
Absolutely not!

What fees does SocialProjects.org.uk charge?
We charge a 5% fee from all projects that raise funds through our site.

What happens to the money if the target is not reached?
If the financial target is not met within the defined timeframe, funds pledged by backers are returned. This facilitates that backers commit their funds towards projects that have sufficient financial backing to be delivered successfully.

What happens if a project reaches its goal before time?
The project keeps going until the time limit ends. Meaning a project can fund more money than it asks for. Good for you. People seem to like your idea.

Can I change my project after funding is completed?
No. Use project updates as a source for new information during the funding period. After that, you must stick to the plan.

Can a project be cancelled?
Yes. Any money collected for the project will be given back to the investors. For transparency, the project will not be removed from our list of projects but will be listed as cancelled.

Who creates the rewards for each project?
You do. As project owner you have the full responsibility to create and deliver the rewards to your funders. But remember, be honest and do not offer rewards that you cannot fulfil.

What can I use as reward for my project?
It is all up to you. Almost anything. Rewards will inspire support. Remember your funders can help you with spreading the word around about your project.
